I look forward to Fridays or nights when we get to have dinner out.  Tonight’s pick is The Frazzled Cook.  If you are looking for a fast dinner option, this is the place to go.

We booked our reservation through the Booky App and got a 100 PHP discount.

First impressions

Reservation through the Booky food app

Upon booking a reservation, we got a confirmation within 3 minutes.  We were impressed on how fast the exchange was compared to using the phone and waiting for someone to answer it.

Ambiance

The place is jam packed.  Booking your reservation is indeed recommended.  Good thing that making a reservation is even easier with the Booky App.

It has a very artsy home feel and each corner has a different theme or color scheme.  All the chairs are different from each other.

Drinks bar

They seem to serve good coffee using civet coffee from the Philippines or Alamid coffee.

Dining experience

Each item is special.  Notice the hello kitty spoon and fork,  the tin can recycled and decorated into a napkin holder, stone plates with artsy carvings.

Food and drinks

We had the house blend ice tea.  I was disappointed that it tasted like powdered instant ice tea mix with fruit tea or syrup instead of the real brewed tea.

Fast and healthy dinners

Herb Chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing

The chicken is really tender and tasty.  Instead of using ordinary bread as croutons, they seem to use biscocho – (Filipino version of biscotti)  toasted bread topped with butter and sugar.  Instead of fresh mangoes, they used dried mangoes.  Each ingredient blended well together.  The sweet croutons and dried mangoes balancing the sourness of the vinaigrette and at the same time goes well with the juicy charcoal grilled chicken.  It is a complete, quick and healthy dinner for 1.

Wagyu Salplicao

I would recommend this dish for the excellent taste however I didn’t like the beef texture.  The meat seemed old and disintegrating.

Paella

I heard that paella was their specialty so we decided to give it a try.  The rice was soggy however the taste is not bad and I like that they gave a generous amount of lemon wedges.

Pan seared dory with fries

I like that the fish is still tender and not dry.

Pudding ala mode – FREE

Tip: get a free dessert when you answer the quick survey in the Booky App.

Overall

One of the hidden places in Manila – The Frazzled Cook is a quick dinner option and a good place to gather with friends or family for drinks and comfort food;  Hold intimate gatherings with its home-like artistic decor.

The food taste good, I think it tastes better than The Breakfast Club at Eastwood
